Rules And Regulations

  • The school gates will be closed at 7.55 am No child will be permitted to enter the premises thereafter. The child will be asked to go home.

  • All the children must be present on the first and last day of the term, Diwali vacation and Winter vacation. Non – availability of travel accommodation will not be accepted as a reason for joining the school late. Unless the prior written permission from the Principal is obtained, the absentees will be fined Rs.500/- on the joining date.

  • If your child is absent for more than two days please inform the school by phone or in writing, stating the reason for absence. You should also contact the class teacher to know the work your child has missed.

  • In case of illness, on returning the child must bring a note in the diary from his/her parents or guardian certifying to the fact. Failure to produce such a note may lead to sending the child home.

  • A child who has been suffering from an infectious disease must bring a medical certificate declaring him/her fit to go to school.

  • The Principal must be informed as soon as possible, if due to illness a student is likely to be absent for more than a week.

  • Every Thursday Nursery to Senior KG 12 noon to 1 pm and class I to X 2 pm to 2.35 pm is especially reserved for you – where you can meet teachers in the classroom environment and discuss your child’s activities and progress.

  • If you wish to discuss your child’s progress with a specific teacher any other time, you will need to take an appointment through the class teacher for a time suitable to both of you.

  • Pre-school students at Dwarka School are assessed primarily through observation records, and there are no formal tests and examinations. Reports with age appropriate criteria will be sent to you at the end of each term.

  • Formal homework is given during the week. Parents must insure that all homework is completed on a daily basis.

  • In Primary years, homework is an essential part of developing good work habits and responsibility, Further, homework is meant to evaluate the student’s understanding of concepts presented by the teacher and therefore, used as a measure of the teacher’s success in facilitating learning.

  •  Work designed to be completed outside class times.

  • Work to be completed by the student himself/herself.

  • Consolidation or follow-up of concepts already taught.

  • Revision work in preparation for a test or to review work already mastered.

  • “Catch up work” made necessary by sickness or some other absence.

  • Weekly spelling lists to be memorized by students.

  • Teachers will collaborate to assign homework on separate days to avoid giving students too much outside work. Teachers will give fair warning when setting substantial assignments involving careful reflection, reading or library research.

  • Routine letters and notices will be sent through this diary. Please check the diary every day and acknowledge the teacher’s comments by countersigning them. Please also use the relevant pages in the diary to communicate with the teacher.

  • No toys, cell phones or sports equipment are to be brought to the school unless asked for, by a teacher, for a specific activity. Parents must return all toys and clothes carried home by the child.

  • On their birthdays, children are allowed to distribute only two sweets per child in the class.

  • Any change in your residential or office address, or telephone numbers must be intimated to the class teacher in writing.

  • Punctuality in school is very important and as we are trying to teach this virtue to our students, parents are requested to cooperate.

  • For your children’s safety, they will generally be allowed to leave school only at the scheduled time. Only authorized persons can pick-up through the i- card system. Any changes in a person picking up your child should be intimated in writing.

  • Send a note with the child in the morning giving the time for pick up or call the school office and advise the school of the intention to pick up the student early.

  • The person picking up the student should come with a note signed by the parent or appointed guardian to the effect that the student is to accompany this person.

  • The school personnel are not permitted to dispense medication unless you inform them in writing. If a medication is brought to School, it should be given to the class teacher/school nurse each day with clear instructions about when it is to be administered.

  • If your child shows symptoms of a communicable disease or any other medical condition that could jeopardize the health of others, the school should be notified immediately. Please do not let your child return to school till the quarantine period is over.

  • A child showing even the slightest indication of illness should not be sent to school.
