At The Dwarka School, a commitment to nurturing problem-solving and critical thinking skills is evident through active participation in Olympiad exams.

Recent achievements showcase the students' excellence, with 2 securing gold in General Knowledge, 14 in Science, and an impressive 16 in English.

These accolades not only highlight the school's dedication to holistic education but also underscore the students' prowess in diverse subjects, setting a commendable standard for academic excellence.

The students of The Dwarka School are the proud members of " Pune Climate Warriors". PCW had organised an Elocution competition on doing good for the environment, where in 350 students had participated.

We are proud to say that Vyga Vasu of class 7 secured the 3rd position in this competition for her thoughts on the topic “Human Wildlife Conflict”.

The school has consistently achieved a 100% pass result at the secondary level school exams of the CBSE board, with a few of the students getting 10 CGPA.

The school result shows that in each of the classes I to X, over 30% of the students get A+ grade. Testing results of student’s, show that each year there is an improvement in the performance of the students.

The school trains the students for Olympic exams in Science, Math, English and Computers. The students not only get medals at the school level, but achieve state ranks and qualify for higher levels of testing. Students have participated in Inter school math quiz competition and were adjudged runners up in the competition.

The school timetable has a compulsory reading period incorporated in the daily schedule and so the reading skills of the students are well developed.

 

EFFORTS MADE IN THE FIELD OF ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION

The school follows a policy of 3Rs – REDUCE, REUSE AND RECYCLE, to help protect the environment.

REDUCE – 1. Paper less communications and transactions.

                    2. Use of mobile app to send circulars.

                    3. Reduce wastage of water.  Students are encouraged to throw the water from their water bottles in the plant pots especially during summer.

REUSE-      1. Reuse of one side printed paper for internal work.

                    2. Reuse of scrap paper for making papier mache.

RECYCLE -  1. Compost pit –The school has a compost pit, where all the spilt, leftover food, garden waste and other biodegradable items are turned into manure which is used in the garden.

                     2.  Recycle bins are kept in pre primary classes so that students can throw the waste paper for recycling.

 Each year the students carry out a tree plantation drive in the adjoining township. In 2018 the students planted 50 trees in the Fire Station complex which was barren.

To keep the environment clean, the students not only sweep the dry leaves and twigs from the school premises, but  under take cleaning activities in the local temple area and the St Dyneshwar temple at Dehu.      

Students are encouraged to move away from age old traditions like throwing prayer flowers in rivers, thereby not polluting the rivers.

The harmful effects of bursting crackers are discussed with the students, and they are encouraged to have a cracker less Diwali.

 

INNOVATIVE  PRACTICES                                                                                                                            

1. Integrated Teaching: The teachers of the school integrate different subjects like Math, Science and Hindi to explain concepts of the lesson.

2. Team Teaching: Collaboration among the teachers to describe a concept is a striking feature of the school.

3. ICT based Teaching: Use of the technology is the need of the hour in the teaching field. Dwarka School is not behind anyone.

4. Teaching through Model Making: Teachers make models to explain the working mechanism of certain concepts in the school.

5. Teaching through Role play: Teachers encourage students to understand the concepts through role plays.

6. Learning through Workshops:  School arranges different workshops for students to learn different concepts such as astronomy workshop, counseling workshop, career guidance, attempting board exam, disaster management, journalistic writing.

7. Learning through Field trips: School organizes field trips to visit different locations to understand the concepts better like police station, orphanage, bus terminus, tribal museum, post office, bank, vegetable market, fire station, old age home etc.

8. Problem based Learning:  The teachers of the school motivate the students to learn by solving real life problems.

9. Story based learning: Teachers encourage students to weave stories and help them in better learning.
